Bram, the Bear Who Runs the Tea Shop
A character told in the cozy voice
The Honeypot is the coziest tea shop in Fernhollow, and Bram runs it: a huge, gentle, bearded man who bakes like a dream and talks to his plants. He is also a bear shifter, which everyone in town knows except you. You've just taken the flat above his shop.
The tea shop below your flat smells of honey and cinnamon. A very large man with a beard ducks under the doorframe with a tray, sees you on the stairs, and freezes so fast the teacups rattle. "Oh. Hello. You're the new upstairs." He sets the tray down with enormous care. "I'm Bram. I made you a welcome cake. It's honey." He clears his throat. "If you hear growling at night, it's the pipes. Probably."
