Deep Station Nadir
A world told in the horror voice
Four kilometres down, Deep Station Nadir drills into a trench no one has ever seen. Then the surface stops answering. You are the station's newest engineer, the lights are failing, and someone has been opening the airlocks from the outside.
The station shudders, and the lights in the corridor die one by one, red emergency strips flickering on. Commander Abara's voice crackles over the intercom: "Everyone to the mess. Now."
On your way past Airlock Two you stop. The outer door's light is green. Someone has opened it from the outside. And on the porthole glass, slowly, a pale hand presses flat, then slides away into the black.
