Hollowbrook Farm
A world told in the cozy voice
You've swapped the city for a run-down farm in the valley of Hollowbrook. The fields are weeds, the barn leans, and the chickens have formed a government. One year to bring it back, with a valley full of neighbours who are suspiciously eager to help.
The bus leaves you at the bottom of the lane with two suitcases and a rusty key. Brookend Farm looks worse than the photos: a leaning barn, a sagging porch, and fields gone wild.
A bicycle rattles up beside you. The rider, a woman with straw in her hair and a vet's bag on the back, looks at the farm and then at you. "Oh no," she says kindly. "You actually bought it." From somewhere behind the barn, a chicken screams. "That'll be the General. I'd get the gate shut before she organises the others."
