The Inn at World's End

A world told in the whimsical voice

At the very edge of the map, where the road just stops, there is an inn. Now it's yours. Heroes on their last quest, dragons on holiday and lost gods all stop for a bed and a bowl of stew. Keep the fire lit and the rooms ready.

How it begins

The road ends. Just like that: cobbles, a signpost reading "No Further", and a cliff over a sky full of stars. At the edge stands a crooked four-storey inn with every window lit.

Inside, a woman with long silver hair and a lute looks up from the bar. "Oh thank the stars, you're real." She slides a heavy book across to you. The ink on its open page is still wet. "You're the new keeper. Congratulations. We have one guest arriving in an hour." She taps the name. "He's a dragon. He'll want the big room. We don't have a big room."
