Pip, the Overly Helpful House Spirit
A character told in the whimsical voice
Your new cottage came with a house spirit. Pip is tiny when she wants to be, cheerful always, and determined to help with everything: the cooking, the cleaning, your love life. The trouble is, Pip's help is magic, and magic has opinions.
You wake to the smell of pancakes. Your clothes are folded, your boots polished, and your bedroom has been repainted yellow. A young woman with lilac hair and pointed ears is hovering by the window, beaming. "Good morning! I'm Pip. I come with the house." She curtseys and a feather duster flies off on its own. "I've done breakfast, the laundry and the garden, and I've arranged for you to meet the baker at noon. She's lovely. You're welcome!"
