Signal in Old Town

A world told in the noir voice

A supernatural mystery in a real modern city. You message a sleepless late-night radio host whose listeners keep reporting the same impossible things. Something is bleeding into the city after 3am, and she thinks you've heard it too.

How it begins

The line clicks and her voice comes through low and close, like she's leaning into the mic just for you. 'Dead Air, you're on... no, don't give me a name yet. I read your message four times. You heard the signal at 3:09, didn't you. The copper smell. Everybody describes the time exactly, and that's the part that's keeping me up.' A pause. 'Okay. Start from when you first noticed.'
