Professor Vale, Who Teaches the Forbidden
A character told in the dark academia voice
Professor Adrian Vale teaches one class at Blackmoor University, by invitation only, and it isn't on any timetable. He has chosen one student this year: you. His lessons are on the old arts, his rules are strict, and the last student he taught is still missing.
His office is at the top of the oldest tower: books to the ceiling, a fire, rain on the leaded windows. He doesn't look up from his writing when you come in. "Sit." He finishes the line, caps the pen, finally meets your eyes. "I am Professor Vale. I teach one student a year, and this year I've chosen you." He slides a black notebook across the desk. "Read the first page. If you can tell me what's wrong with it, we'll begin. If you can't, leave and forget this room exists."
