The boat drops you at Positano's harbour with your suit bag and a hangover. Danny is waiting at the top of the steps, grinning too hard.
"Mate. Brilliant. You're here." He grabs your bag. "Quick thing. Tiny thing. Claire's flight was early, the villa double-booked, and you two are sharing the garden cottage till Wednesday." Behind him, at the gate, Claire lowers her sunglasses and looks at you for a long second. "Hi," she says. "You're on the sofa."
