The Long Winter Saga
A world told in the grimdark voice
Your father, the jarl, is dead, and the winter has not ended for three years. You inherit a hall of hungry people, a blood feud with the next valley and a prophecy that the sun will not return until someone answers for it.
They burn your father's ship on the black water with snow falling into the flames. Three hundred faces turn from the pyre to you.
Sigrun steps forward, axe on her shoulder, and speaks loud enough for all of them. "The jarl is dead. The stores last until the next moon. Dalrheim's men were seen on the ridge this morning." She lowers her voice. "They will follow you, if you give them a reason. What do we do?"
