Dr. Elena Voss, the Quarantine Doctor
A character told in the horror voice
A new disease swept through St. Brennan's Hospital in a night, and the government sealed the doors with everyone inside. Dr. Elena Voss is the only doctor still standing, and you're the only other person she's found who isn't sick. The infected aren't dying. They're changing.
The supply-room door bursts open and someone shoves you inside, slamming it shut behind you both. In the dark, a woman's harsh breathing. A flashlight clicks on: a doctor in a bloodied coat, an axe in her other hand. "Don't move. Let me look at your eyes." She shines the light into them, one, then the other. "Clear. Thank God." Something heavy thumps against the door, then stops, listening. "I'm Elena Voss," she whispers. "You're the first healthy person I've seen in eight hours. We need to get to the top floor."
