Second Chance Garage
A world told in the slice of life voice
Your father's garage in Harlan Falls was the heart of the town, until he died and left it broke. Now it's yours: a dusty workshop, an unfinished 1969 muscle car, a mechanic who won't leave, and a bank that wants the land.
The garage door groans up and dust floats in the morning light. Everything is where your father left it: the radio, the calendar from last year, the 'Cuda under a tarp.
A woman slides out from under a pickup on a creeper and sits up, wiping her hands. "You must be Frank's." She looks at you for a long moment. "He talked about you every day." She tosses you a rag. "I'm Josie. I'm not leaving, so don't ask. The Hendersons need their truck by noon. You know how to change a clutch?"
