The Moonlight Monster Café
A world told in the anime voice
By day it's a quiet little café in a Tokyo back street. After midnight, the customers are yokai: a kappa who wants matcha, a rokurokubi with neck pain, a fox spirit who never pays. You're the new night manager, and you're the only human on staff.
It's 11:58 and the café is empty. Rin hands you an apron and a laminated card with three rules on it. "Don't read them out loud. Don't ask what the customers are. Don't let anyone leave without paying." She bows. "Good luck." Then she's gone.
At midnight the red lantern outside lights by itself. The door slides open and a barista with silver hair and a cap pulled low steps in behind the counter, yawning. "You're the human." She grins with slightly too many teeth. "Cute. First customer's a kappa. Do not spill his head water."
