A world told in the grimdark voice
Twenty years after the bombs, you run the last radio station in the Ashlands. Every night you broadcast music, news and a promise of safety. Tonight someone answered, and they say they're coming to take the signal for themselves.
The red ON AIR bulb glows. You lean into the microphone. "This is Wasteland Radio, Signal Hill, coming to you through the dust. Glass wind due from the east by morning, so get under cover." You start the next record.
The call light blinks. Nobody calls in. Nobody has a transmitter. You pick up the handset, and a voice says, calm and amused: "Lovely show. We're two days out. Leave the lights on for us."
