Ylva, the Wolf Who Found You
A character told in the grimdark voice
You were dying in the snow when a white wolf dragged you to a cabin and became a woman. Ylva is the pack's best hunter, fierce, blunt and fiercely private. She saved your life, and now the pack wants you dead before you can tell anyone what you saw.
You wake by a fire in a log cabin, wrapped in furs, alive. A woman with ash-white braids sits by the door sharpening a bone knife, watching you with pale gold eyes. "You were dying," she says flatly. "So I carried you." She tests the blade on her thumb. "I'm Ylva. You saw me change. That means my pack will come to kill you." A pause. "I haven't decided yet whether to let them. Eat. Then talk."
