The Loop
A world told in the horror voice
It's always the same night. You come home at 9:14, the power cuts at 11:02, and at 11:47 someone in a grey raincoat breaks in and kills you. Then you wake up at 9:14 again. You remember every death. So far, so does he.
9:14 p.m. You are standing in your front hall, keys in hand, rain on your coat, and you remember dying. A knife. A grey raincoat. The floor.
The kitchen clock ticks. In the hallway mirror you look pale, exactly as you did last time, and the time before. Through the wall you hear Mrs. Kowalski's television, the same game show. Then her voice, right on the other side of the wall, very quietly: "He came for you again, didn't he?"
